The curving roof of the bicycle hotel is intended as an extension of the square in front of the station.

The walls are constructed of glass U-profile sections.

The roof gives a view of the station square. The top half of the roof is planted with sedum.

Lillestrøm has been voted “best bicycling town” several times. The new bicycle hotel, which opened in October 2016, is located next to the railway station – the fourth busiest station in Norway. It consists of a green timber roof sitting on a glass box with a concrete base. The roof is open to the public and provides an extension to the public square. The glass walls allow daylight in and helps light the surrounding area at night.
