An observation tower was part of the master plan for Tjuvholmen. The tower is placed on the highest point of the new Tjuvholmen allé, marking the entrance to the new museum.
It is a prefabricated helical steel structure with a diameter of 3,5 metres, 84 metres high including the 20 metre spire. A glass lift takes the public up to 50 metres. “Smart glass” prevents loss of privacy as the lifts pass the apartments on the way.
